1.As per the 2nd General body meeting of the Maldives Doctors Union, The Executive Committee was elected as follows;
- President: Dr. Shah Mahir
- Vice President: Dr. Mohamed Wisham

2.Amendments of Charter of The Maldives Doctors Union gazetted from 29th December 2023.

Citation: Mariya Rusalenko has worked with our organization and Ministry of Health of Maldives to build the first medical protocols in the Maldives for Endocrine disease management. She has also formulated the first nationwide research program with collaboration of our organization and Ministry of Health of Belarus on the 2 year research program on prevalence of Diabetes, Infertility and their risk factors among the adult population of the Republic of the Maldives.
Mini Biography
Mariya Rusakenko is the current Deputy Head and Medical Director of Republican Research Center for Radiation Medicine and human Ecology, and also the Director General of Belarus Maldives Cultural center.
Her Book on Endocrinology and Public health was recognized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and President of United Nations National General Assembly, H. E Abdulla Shahid, for its impact on the General health of Maldivian Population.
Dr. Mariya was awarded the Order of Hippocrates in 2016 by the Belarusian Government, and National Medal for Kindness, Mercy and Compassion in 2021, Badge for Excellence in Healthcare in 2019 by the Presidential Administration of Belarus.

Citation: Ali Niyaf has worked with our organization and various Maldives state and private entities to developed the scope of Neurosurgery in the Maldives. He has built the first state of the art Neurosurgery setup in the Maldives in ADK Hospital. Niyaf founded and initiated the Neurosurgery conference series “Brain & Spine” in 2017, which is attended by neurosurgeons from the United States, Germany, Philippines and Nepal and has contributed to research in the Maldives in the field of Neurosurgery.

Ali Niyaf is the Head Department of the Neurosurgery of ADK hospital, and the Vice President of the Maldives Medical and Dental Council of Ministry of Health of the Maldives. He has served as the President of the Maldives Doctors Association from 2020-2022

As per our executive meeting on 05th September 2023, a decision was made to deliver the addresses of concerns of the Union to the Presidential Candidates in respect to the future of healthcare in the Maldives.
The addresses for concerns are as follows;
⦁ Advice to assign an experienced technical transition team to ensure the transparency, and minimize the tendency to conceal corruptive activities by various departments.
⦁ Recommend to assign technical individuals to run the healthcare related departments/offices and insurance schemes in the country..
⦁ Provide technical assistance to the presidential candidates to ensure that the Healthcare sphere and its crucial goals are added to their manifestos.
